The
client marked-up information such as manholes, pipelines
and other equipment of a sewage collection system on district
maps detailing roads, parcels and coordinate values (Latitude
and Longitude values of a point).
We received
95
such sheets.

CAD
map of the entire districts road and parcels layout.
Project
involved the vectorization of
-
Sewage
collection system network layout from each sheet.
-
The
information captured from each sheet was stitched up (mosaic)
to form one CAD map detailing the entire sewage collection
system of the area.
-
The
sewage collection system was superimposed on the existing
map in CAD format of the area elaborating the Roads and
the Parcels.
The specifications
required each Manhole, Sump pump, Diversion box, Lift Station,
etc, to be tagged with attributes such as Identification number,
sheet number (the paper drawing number), depth and rim diameter.
Each pipeline was assigned as attribute with a Identification
number (combination of the manholes at both ends which also
described the flow), sheet number, length, slope, diameter
and the material of the pipe. The attribute were extracted
to form a database of the entire collection system.

AutoLISP
programs were developed to speed up the vectorization process
as well as to automate the creation of certain attributes
like sheet numbers and the pipe identification numbers.
The final
seamless sewage collection drawings were delivered to the
client in 20 working days.
The project
cost the client one sixth of that quoted by a similar company
to Digitise IT in the US.

"I
would like to commend you on your quality control and your
persistent questions to make sure that the project has been
completed on time and with high quality."
